Check the Console error log: if there is a reference to Stuffit libraries (or anything refering to Stuffit) do a Spotlight search and delete EVERYTHING with Stuffit in the name.
This is a known problem with Entourage 2004 and Stuffit 10 although we have seen it with later version of Stuffit too.
UPDATE: We encountered the same problem in Istanbul and the work-around was to go to /Library/CMFSupport and delete the file StuffitEngineShell.cfm. Note: a Spotlight search failed to find this file!
These are several reasons those can corrupt to Entourage database like dirty shutdown, human error or many more. But to repair data of corrupted entourage file is a tough and time consuming task to i always prefer to use third part tools for that.
